Pure Sprinkles offers a variety of sweet and savoury recipes that include a mix of gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan-friendly, paleo-friendly and refined sugar-free recipes.

THE STORY BEHIND PURE SPRINKLES
I have always had a passion for food; eating it, making it, reading about it, you name it!
I used to revel in going out and exploring the food scene, whether it was a food truck, restaurant, or a gelato place, I loved it all. My love for food was so evident that many of my friends encouraged me to start a food blog. Even though the notion sounded great, I didn’t quite feel a push to do it; it was more of a ‘one day’ kind of idea.
Until a few years ago when I started to feel quite unwell with symptoms I had never experienced before. It really shook up my life. I had no idea what was going on or what was causing it. The ensuing months consisted of frequent visits to the doctors, emergency room, specialists, having several tests done, you name it, but no one could figure out what was going on with me – it was a total nightmare.
Almost a year had passed, and I still had no answer. At a time when I felt completely lost and in the dark, a friend suggested consulting with a Naturopath. Then it happened. A light of hope shone through. At long last, after months of having no answer, the Naturopath diagnosed my symptoms! The overwhelming relief to finally have an answer was truly a miracle.
I learned that the symptoms were caused by a combination of hormones and digestive issues. The Naturopath recommended a treatment plan that involved eating a restricted diet plus supplementation to reboot my body and start the healing process from scratch. I knew it was going to be a big adjustment especially since food was so close to my heart. Thus began my journey to healing.
JOURNEY TO HEALING & HEALTHY EATING
In the beginning, it was a challenge, trying to make tasty meals with limited ingredients. I was willing to sacrifice foods, but definitely not flavour. I mean that would be asking for too much, wouldn’t you say? I quickly learned it was not as hard as I thought.
However, the most challenging part was how much it affected my life socially. Food is such an integral part of most social gatherings I participate in and when I can’t join in, I feel like a social misfit. Having to sometimes bring my own food to parties because there is nothing else I can eat, going to an event and just nibbling on the fruits and veggies, or having to miss the event entirely.
Thankfully, things have changed by leaps and bounds since the beginning of my journey. I have reintroduced most foods back into my diet, and most importantly my symptoms have improved and are thankfully under control these days. Which I am ever so grateful for.
LESSONS LEARNED ALONG MY JOURNEY
So one may wonder, does that mean your health is perfect now? Honestly, the answer is no, as I am still on my health journey. It’s been a long road, but I have faith that one day soon I will reach my desired destination.
No matter where you are in your journey right now, I know how frustrating setbacks can be, especially when you work so hard and make sacrifices along the way. It can start to feel like all of it may be in vain especially if you don’t see or feel the results you sought after. It can be quite disheartening. You may even feel like giving up. Don’t, don’t give up. I know how tempting it can be, and trust me, I’ve been tempted many times myself. Those moments will truly test you and why it is even more imperative that you push through the struggle. The gratification of surpassing obstacles and roadblocks is priceless. Some of them may seem trivial, but it’s important not to minimize them and celebrate all the small victories along the way. Each one counts and is another stride forward and something to be very proud of.
It can be quite challenging when it feels like so many people out there seem to find the perfect solutions to fix their problems, but sometimes it’s not that simple. Sometimes it takes time, a lot of trial and error, and most importantly, patience. Which is why it is so crucial not to compare your journey with others. As humans, we often evaluate our successes by what others are doing, and when it’s not the same, it can be discouraging. Just remember each of us is unique, as is our journey. Life is a work in progress, always changing, growing, and evolving. So be kind to yourself, and do your best, as that is all that truly matters.
So dear friends, keep focusing on your journey, and all will happen in its place and time that is meant for you.
SPRINKLE SOME PURE GOODNESS INTO YOUR LIFE
Even though it was a negative experience that started this journey, I firmly believe there was a purpose behind it. It allowed me to see food in a different light. It sparked a newfound passion for baking and cooking! I have always loved food, but now I found a purpose in it, to share my story with you!
Since launching, the blog in 2021, it has reached heights behind my wildest dreams. I am incredibly blessed to accomplish so many amazing things within these two years, allowing so many dreams to come to fruition. It has changed my life in the most amazing ways.
